Dan & Isaac Speak

This is a two-for one. A "Dan Speak" and "What We're Saying" double punch.

Dan: I think I'm going to start a record label called "Tru Dat Records."
Me: But honey, you don't have any industry experience.
Dan: Tru Dat.
(walked right into that one!)

We were discussing baby names and Amelia came up. I could see him pondering it over when he busted out with the song, "If I had AMELIAn dollars..."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Isaac is pretty much potty-trained. It has clicked in the past few weeks. But the comments after completing his task have been priceless:

"Mom, that is almost as big as I AM!!"
"Mom, could I please have some PRIVACY!!!"
"Wow! Mom, that is SOOOO Cool!"

-He woke up from a nap and when I went into get him he was itching his leg. I asked if he had a bug bite, "No, not yet."

-Isaac has really taken to the idea of having a baby sister, and talks to my belly frequently. We spent the July 4th holiday with my parents and shared a room. He woke up one morning, patted my belly and said, "You are really going to like Grandma and Papa's house."

-We have tought Isaac who our president is from seeing him on TV so frequently. I didn't realize it had sunk in outside of that scenario until this weekend. We were at a large furniture store going down the escalator to a different area of the store when a salesman, who happened to be African American, went down in front of us. "Look DAD! That's UNCLE OBAMA!"
(Apparently all men are uncles...since he as so many!)

These are all priceless and precious!

I gotta tell ya something about the potty training one - - - my son, now 29 years old, STILL thinks he's done something spectacular when he has an especially interesting #2 - - - so he photographs them with his cell phone and texts it to his sisters.

A boy NEVER grows up, at least that has been MY experience.
